I’ve been trying to keep up with regular meditation. Daily meditation keeps my emotions calmer, my thoughts more collected and concise and my life, well, less stressful overall. Thanks to the Monroe Institute’s Expand App, I can easily and happily try many different meditation experiences daily or utilize my favorites, depending on how I feel.
Due to a rather hectic schedule, I don’t always get to meditate multiple times a day, but I was extremely lucky this Sunday to have an ideal opportunity. I meditated not just once or twice but three times. This is the experience I aim for with Expand, and it’s always such an accomplishment when I am able to manage it. I see countless benefits in my life when I’m able to meditate more frequently.
Here’s what I was able to craft for myself on Sunday. I hope you can use it to get ideas or inspiration for your meditation sessions!
In the morning, I find that setting intentions for the day is imperative, so I picked the “5-Minute Patterning for Your Day” meditation to set my intention and plan my ideal day. In my life, planning and organization is key to keeping myself productive and motivated. Patterning my day, even if it’s a relaxing Sunday, is very important. Plus, this exercise only takes five minutes, so I can always find the time for it. “5-Minute Patterning” helps me quickly put together everything I want to accomplish and the order in which to accomplish it. And by visualizing things I’d like to accomplish in my ideal day, such as working out, I’m more motivated and driven to actually do these things, even if I’m feeling a little tired. So, visualizing the perfect day really does help me to direct the perfect outcome. And, on this Sunday, I visualized myself getting a few errands done that I’d been putting off, working out, and still having time to relax. I was able to feel motivated enough to accomplish it all.
In the middle of the day, when my mind is most active, I generally feel the most creative, and this was especially true this past Sunday. Depending on the day, I’ll either pick a creative meditation or a manifestation meditation. Since I’d been focusing on my show, on Sunday shortly after lunch I chose to manifest for the greater future. I sat down with a much longer, specially-crafted manifestation meditation in which I visualized the best outcomes for my show coming to fruition. After visualizing and stating, “This is my intention,” I released it into the universe knowing that the best outcome for me would come soon. I don’t know exactly why, but doing a mid-day manifestation meditation session helps me to feel very accomplished for the day.
After working out later that Sunday and getting to calm down and relax as the evening developed, I found that the 10-minute “Expressing Gratitude” meditation allowed me to wind down in a positive way, and helped me feel complete after a great day. Some days I’ll choose a meditation to help me sleep, but on this Sunday, I was feeling a need to express my gratitude. I find this meditation, in particular, helps me shift any pains or trials throughout the day into a positive experience where I can discover the lessons or meanings behind the daily frustrations and feel grateful for the lessons learned. It helps me to grow a little more day by day in the right direction.
What I love most about my daily meditations is that they are constantly changing. I can mix up the sessions I choose and cater to the type of day I am having or what I am currently feeling. And I can’t express enough how much I love the Expand app and all the many short but effective meditation sessions it offers. It’s provided me with countless ideas and inspiration that have really helped shape my journey with meditation. I can’t wait to see where it leads me next.
