Eastern Europe is a region that I will forever feel is highly underrated. While Central Europe does have so much to offer, this continent is much more than the Eiffel Tower or the Colosseum. There are so many dark destinations in Eastern Europe that would make the heart of any paranormal lover scream with joy. From haunting legends, mysterious history, to gothic architecture — there is so much that you can see and do here. Especially if you’re a lover of anything dark and spooky. And especially if you travel during this time of the year. The fog, gloomy weather and ambiance will make you feel like you have been transported into a vampire movie. From the legendary story of Dracula to ancient pagan sites, here are just some of the dark destinations in Eastern Europe that you shouldn’t miss out on.

Bran Castle (Transylvania, Romania)

We have to start with a classic, okay? Shrouded in mist and perched atop a rocky hill in Transylvania, Bran Castle stands as an emblem of Gothic architecture.
