Everything You Should Know Before Visiting Juliet’s House In Verona

Things are getting romantic in the Italian city of Verona! And what could be more romantic than a visit to Romeo and Juliet’s famous balcony?! The “Casa di Giulietta” or “Juliet’s House” is a popular tourist destination and one of the main attractions of Verona.

Famous for being the setting for Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet, the house is just 500 feet away from Verona’s Piazza Delle Erbe. This place is symbolic of the love of the two protagonists who, according to the story, met here for the first time and had a significant encounter. Although the play is fictional, many believe the house was the real location of Romeo and Juliet.

The play by Shakespeare was created in 1596. The level of fame increased immensely again when the play was filmed in 1996. Leonardo di Caprio (played Romeo) and Claire Danes (Juliet) took part in the film in the main roles. Even though the balcony was added to the house later, this does not detract from the atmosphere of this place!

Juliet’s House is a historic building in Verona, Italy. The building was originally built as a palace for the Capulet family. Many legends surround this house and its connection to Shakespeare’s famous tragedy, Romeo and Juliet.

The house is privately owned but can be visited by tourists who want to see where Romeo and Juliet fell in love. You can also visit Julia’s grave, which is located in the nearby churchyard.

The house was built around 1450 by Giulietta Capuleti, known as “the most beautiful girl in all of Verona.” The building has been restored to look as it did when it was built in the 13th century. You will truly feel like you were taken back in time while visiting it.
