Exploring Monaco in 48 Hours: Everything You Need to See
Bienvenue à Monaco, the playground of the rich and famous. This is a microstate bursting with luxury, stunning views, and a unique blend of history and modernity. But it’s also so tiny that it’s possible to explore Monaco in only 48 hours. And here’s our guide on how to do just that!
Day 1 of Your Monaco Exploration
Morning:
I know that this doesn’t seem like a morning activity, but let’s just get it out of the way, shall we? So start your day with a visit to one of Monte Carlo’s casino. Yes, some of them work 24/7. While you may not be a high roller, it’s still fun to visit and admire the architecture. Also, you will feel a lot less adventurous in the morning hours, which is a positive thing when you’re in a casino.
Now that you got that out of the way, it’s time to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. Our recommendation would be one of the iconic cafés on Casino Square. You have the chance to indulge in some delicious pastries and coffee while basking in the bustling atmosphere.
Midday:
Now that you’re all fueled up, it’s time to do some exploration. Learn more about Monaco’s history at the official residence of the Grimaldi family. Witness the changing of the guard at 11:55 AM and wander through the State Apartments and courtyards. Later, you can enjoy a traditional Monegasque meal at a local restaurant in Le Rocher (The Rock), Monaco’s old town. Try barbajuans (savory pastries) or socca (chickpea pancake) for an authentic taste.
Afternoon:
What better way to end your day than by visiting museums? If you’re a deep water nerd, you absolutely have to visit the Oceanographic Museum. Admire the marine exhibits, including aquariums and a remarkable turtle sanctuary. If you’re not ready a ocean lover, we have something for you too. You can explore the cliffside Exotic Garden for a stunning array of succulents and panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
Day 2 of Your Monaco Exploration
Morning:
After a day of doing so much, it’s time to take it slow. Start by taking a stroll around the glamorous port area, admiring luxury yachts and soaking in the Riviera’s chic ambiance. You will feel like a celebrity just by looking at it. To round off the morning, let’s visit one of Monaco’s Japanese gardens. Relax and find tranquility in this serene garden with Zen-inspired features and peaceful surroundings.

Midday:
It’s lunch time! Dine at a seaside restaurant or grab a picnic and enjoy lunch while taking in the Mediterranean views. Now, it’s time to do some retail therapy. And what better place to do that than the Metropole Mall. Explore luxury boutiques and high-end shops for a spot of sophisticated shopping.
Afternoon:
It’s your final afternoon in Monaco, and what better way to use it than by relaxing on the pristine sands of Larvotto Beach. Enjoy sunbathing or take a dip in the azure waters. Don’t forget to also take some beautiful pictures to share with your loved ones.
Of course, you can’t go back home without visiting the Monaco Grand Prix Circuit. Walk or drive along the famous Formula 1 Grand Prix circuit. Feel the adrenaline rush on the iconic hairpin bend at Fairmont Hairpin.
