Franklin Canyon Trail

By now, I’m sure you know that most of my brand and personality revolves around adventure! And this includes adventure hikes. However, what if you’re not really up for an adventurous hike? I mean, we’ve all had those days where we get up and want to take it easy, yet still want to keep moving. I’ve been there often, actually. For those more laid back days, if you’re in the LA area, think about checking out Franklin Canyon Trail.

Franklin Canyon Trail is a nice, easy hike. (It’s less of a hike and more of a walk actually). It’s the perfect hike for a beginner or for someone looking for a nice stroll around a lake. While this trail is a 1.9 mile trek, it’s almost all flat and is good for families and people of all skill levels. (Though keep in mind the trails are a little too wild for strollers and things of that nature.) This trail takes you through a beautiful patch of woods in the mountains by Beverly Hills and circles two lakes. The thing that stood out to me about this hike, specifically, was the array of wildlife. There were more turtles on this trail than I’ve ever seen in one place. There were also many birds, baby ducks, several types of fish, and lots of people walking dogs.

The trail is well-maintained and offers scenic benches to relax and decompress by the lake. There is also a fair amount of shade for you to sit in if you need to cool down. Depending on the time of the year, there can be very little wildflowers placed around the water, as well. I found a cool little wicker hut when I was there. So, if you’re looking for a hike that’s a little less adventurous, this one is perfect for you. Since it’s more like a park, you get the feeling you’re in a public, open space the entire time rather than feeling separated from society. And the service on this trail is great due to that reason, too.

And I found this cute little straw building on the way out! How fun! I’ll keep this short and sweet. But all-in-all, this is a beautiful little trail to stroll on, and it’s great for puppies, dogs, children, and the elderly. I highly recommend this as a great starter hike or a walk for a day you want to relax a little more.

The Queen’s Bath Trail to the Queen’s Bath pool is one of the most exciting and rewarding hikes I’ve ever been on. And as someone who hikes a lot, that’s saying something. I really do mean that. The trail is pretty short at only 0.8 miles out and back, but it is a very dirty,…
