Hidden Beaches Where Every Day Feels Like Summer

If there’s anything that I crave during this time of the year then it’s to escape on a hidden beach and just enjoy my days sunbathing, sipping on cocktails, and reading fantasy novels. Sounds like my interpretation of heaven. And while I’m locked inside my home office, trying to catch up on a pile of work — that’s also where I escape to in my mind to get some motivation back into my life. Summer is almost here, so if you’re also looking for gorgeous and remote destinations to daydream about or even plan your next trip around — I’ve found some truly stunning hidden beaches!

Navagio Beach (Greece)

Also known as Shipwreck Beach, Navagio Beach is famous for its dramatic look. And honestly — I’m so here for it. Because you’ll feel like you’ve entered a pirate movie. This gorgeous beach features an old smuggler shipwreck (the Panagiotis) that rests in its sandy embrace since 1980. You would be able to take some truly spectacular pictures here, while also just enjoying a few quiet moments on the beach.

The place is encased by towering limestone cliffs, that means — no land access. Which is probably one of the main reasons why it’s in such pristine condition. The turquoise water contrasts sharply with the white pebble sand, creating a breathtaking sight from the cliffs above or right from the shore. But how to reach this secluded beauty? Don’t worry, a short boat ride from Porto Vromi will do the trick.

Playa del Amor (Mexico)

Even the name is dreamy, right. Also commonly referred to as Hidden Beach, this gorgeous spot is a remarkable natural phenomenon on one of the Marietas Islands — a small group of uninhabited islands a few miles off the coast of Nayarit. Trust me when I tell you — this beach is not only hidden, but also fiercely protected. To preserve its gorgeous natural beauty and fragile environment, access is strictly controlled.

You’ll have to swim through a short tunnel in order to reach this hidden cove. Once you arrive, you’ll notice how the beach is surrounded by a natural rock amphitheater. This masterpiece was created by volcanic activity and erosion over thousands of years. But it’s not only the natural beauty that makes this place so special. The abundant marine life also make it the perfect spot for snorkeling.

Green Sand Beach (Hawaii, USA)

Green Sand Beach, or Papakōlea Beach, is located near South Point in the Kaʻū district of the island of Hawaii. But what makes this beach so incredibly special? It has green (I repeat — GREEN!!) sand. This is actually one of only four green sand beaches in the world. And the green color of the sand comes from olivine crystals, a common mineral found in the volcanic rocks of Hawaii but rarely concentrated in such abundance.

The beach is quite remote and requires a significant hike or a four-wheel drive to access, which keeps the crowds away and preserves its unique landscape. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sun protection for the trek. You’ll be rewarded by stunning views of the rugged coastline and windswept terrain.
