Hotel Greene in Richmond, VA Makes Mini Golf Unique

One of my favorite past-times, ever since I was a small child, was playing mini golf. My father and I always found new and exciting (or sometimes we continually frequented the same place over and over) mini golf courses. Because of this, even today, I’m always on the lookout for new and exciting ideas in the world of mini golf, such as King Neptune’s 3D Blacklight Mini Golf in Virginia Beach. That’s why, when I heard about Hotel Greene in Richmond, I just had to check it out.

What is Hotel Greene?

Built in the downstairs lobby area of a classically famous hotel in Richmond, Virginia, Hotel Greene takes the ambiance and feel of an Old Hollywood hotel back in the 1920s and 30s. According to their tales, dignitaries, actors, spies, and even famous royalty undercover stayed at this classy establishment for a time during its heyday. And it’s this feel that makes a visit so worth it. This mini golf course is not only unique in design, being an indoor mini golf course that you play through the interior of a 1920s hotel (and let’s not forget to mention that they created a pretty elaborate story for it as far as a mini golf course is concerned), but you also get to be immersed into a bar, drinks, and perhaps a brunch as a part of your experience.

Sunday Brunch

The Lobby / Brunch Area of Hotel Greene

We visited Hotel Greene on a Sunday, and they had an incredible deal of only $25 per person for brunch and mini golf together. This included coffee or tea, your entrée, and mini golf. Of course, cocktails could be added on, too. After all, what’s Sunday brunch without your mimosa? I also loved that waitresses came through the course to take drink orders, as well, and there were plenty of spots around the course for you to put your drinks on (built in cup holder areas and mini tables everywhere). Something else that was worth noting is that once you are sat down to eat, you have about an hour, and then the staff will come get you to start your mini golf. They note the flow of the golf on the course and space it out appropriately, so you don’t need to stress about when you start your mini golf. They have that all figured out. And I will say, despite there definitely being larger groups sent through ahead of us, we never caught up to the other groups, which was wonderful. We were able to play through at our own pace without issue, and this included not having anyone waiting on us either, so the spacing was done very well.

The Course

The course takes you through countless rooms of the ‘old hotel’. From the library to the bathrooms and pool to the elevator, down the hall, through a bedroom and beyond, you get a fun glimpse into this classic setting. And the artists even designed elaborate miniature scenes for you to enjoy through certain keyholes and hidden spots.

All in all, it was such a classy, unique, and wonderful experience that I hope you all get to try. Hotel Greene was one of, if not the most unique mini golf course I’ve seen to date. It’s not just a course, it’s an experience, one I highly recommend.
