Inspiration Point Trail

I’m always on the search for the newest and best hiking trails. I find that I prefer the trails less traveled, however, when it comes down to it. That being said, I was unsure about Inspiration Point Trail at first because it is very “mainstream” out here in Los Angeles. While that isn’t always a bad thing, I prefer hiking at more quiet and desolate places.

Inspiration Point Trail is a 2.1 mile route with heavy traffic located in the Pacific Palisades. It offers an easy way to stay in Los Angeles but still get lost in the beauty of nature.

I am glad I made the effort to head to that trial, however, as I wound up being very impressed with Inspiration Point. The hike began in a very upscale park (which does charge for parking-so bring cash!). The hike begins as you pass by horse stables, and you can see signs or horses all around the trail. (I love horses, so this was very exciting for me.) As you walk up to the peak of the mountain trail, you pass benches and signs with inspirational quotes carved into them. This continues until you reach the top of the mountain, which contains a restful and scenic area full of quotes and positivity. On the way down, if you go the opposite way you came down, the trail twists beautifully past a variety of trees and vegetation. There are sections where trees are planted perfectly a few feet apart from each other, making for a great photo opp.

While the hike is up a mountain, the incline isn’t too terrible, so you shouldn’t find yourself getting too tired as you go. Plus, as I mentioned, there are many benches for you to rest on if you get tired heading up the hill during your walk. If you find yourself in the LA area, I would advise giving this hike a try. It is now one of my favorite hikes!
