A long, long time ago, ancient civilizations like the Mayans and Egyptians gazed at the moon with wonder and awe. What we do know is that ancient Greeks in 600 B.C. knew that the moon is spherical and that it revolves around the Earth. This means they understood that the motion of the Earth caused the moon’s changes in appearance. It wouldn’t take too long until stories about the moon’s influence on our lives started to spread. Some believed that the full moon made people act strangely, while others thought that new moons brought fresh starts and new energy. From werewolves howling at the full moon to farmers planting seeds by its light, the phases of the moon became an important part of our daily lives. Or should I say nightly lives?

Nevertheless, the idea of the moon’s sway over our emotions persists.

To be fair, scientists have tried to uncover the secrets behind the lunar effect. Some think that the moon’s gravitational pull might influence the water in our bodies, just as it does the tides in the ocean. Others suggest that the moon’s light might disrupt our sleep patterns, leading to changes in mood and behavior. However, the evidence is still inconclusive. It’s not fully understood how the moon affects our mood overall. Despite the scientific skepticism, many people find comfort in aligning their activities with the moon’s phases. Whether it’s a matter of tradition, belief, or personal connection, the moon continues to rule our lives.
