One Day In Luxembourg: Where To Go And What To Do
Are you traveling around Europe? Luxembourg shares borders with Belgium, Germany, and France. As this is one of the smallest countries in the world, a lot of people aim to explore it in as little as 24 hours. So, if Luxembourg is just a quick stop on your European tour as well, then here are some locations that you should not miss out on!
Chemin de la Corniche

Also known as “Europe’s most beautiful balcony.” The Corniche was built in the 17th century, running along the Alzette valley. It offers some stunning views and also photo opportunities. Get yourself a coffee to-go, snap a few stunning pictures, and keep going. There are so many other things to see!
The Luxembourg City History Museum
The Luxembourg City History Museum is a must-see for any visitor to Luxembourg. Located in the heart of the city and open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., the museum tells you everything you need to know about life in Luxembourg. From its rich history as a Roman city, through Nazi occupation, and into its modern state today. The tickets are just 5€!
Luxembourg National Museum of Natural History
This is such a weird but fascinating museum! If you’re into biology and science, you won’t regret visiting it. It’s located in the center of Luxembourg City, and it’s also the most visited museum in this tiny country. It features a large collection of fossils, minerals, and insects. If you’re a fan of space, you’ll be happy to hear that the museum also has a planetarium. The entrance fee is 7€.
City Center
How could you visit Luxembourg without enjoying its buzzing city life? Even though it’s one of the smallest countries in the world, there are plenty of boutiques, restaurants, nightclubs, and coffee shops to go to. But even without all of that, you’ll be absolutely amazed by the stunning architecture and beautiful streets that this charming place has to offer.
The Grand Ducal Palace

This palace is the official residence of Luxembourg’s monarch. It’s also a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You can visit it for free, and take some amazing pictures here. The building itself looks like something out of a Harry Potter movie, and you can even buy tickets to tour the inside of this palace for only 15€!
Is one day enough to explore Luxembourg city?
That depends. If you just want to get a general idea, and not do a deep dive into the history and culture of Luxembourg — sure, one day will be more than enough. However, I have the feeling that you’ll want to return after your first visit. Their public transportation system is excellent, and it’s so easy to go from one part of the city to the other. The locals are polite, and most of them also speak great English. But you should expect slightly higher prices, as this is one of the wealthiest cities in Europe.
