Meghan Mackie discusses her latest books and writing plan, so be sure to tune in for a sneak peak of her work.

My name is Malorie Mackey, and I’ve always had a strong passion for everything dorky and unusual. My adventures have taken me from working as an editorial writer for various travel platforms to volunteering on scientific expeditions around the world. I’ve found that the character of a location can be found in the strange and unusual attractions it has, as well as in the unique traditions of its people. I have also discovered that there’s such a market for these non-mainstream locations. Thus was born my unique paranormal adventure show “Weird World Adventures” and this podcast, which will serve as a companion to the show, featuring unique locations, as well as discussing weird history and more unusual occult topics that I’m discovering on my journey to get my Master Degree in anthropology with a specialization in mythology, folklore, and occult studies.

Are you ready to explore this weird world?

Malorie Mackey

Malorie Mackey is an actress, published author, and adventurer. Malorie grew up in Richmond, Virginia where she loved sports, the outdoors, animals, and all forms of art. She took to acting at a young age, so it was no surprise when she decided to go to college for theatre. While in college, Malorie studied body movement with the DAH Theatre in Belgrade, Serbia, voice in Herefordshire, England with Frankie Armstrong, and the business of theatre in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Malorie moved from the East Coast to Los Angeles after receiving her BFA in Theatre Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University. Upon arriving in LA, Malorie participated in the Miss California USA 2011 Pageant where she won the “Friend’s Choice” Award (by popular vote) and received a beautiful award for it.

While living on the West Coast, Malorie accumulated over 40 acting credits working on a variety of television shows, web series, and indie films, such as the sci-fi movie “Dracano,” the Biography Channel show “My Haunted House,” the tv pilot “Model Citizen” with Angie Everhart, and the award-winning indie film “Amelia 2.0.”

Throughout her experiences, Malorie found a love for travel and adventure, having journeyed to over a dozen countries experiencing unique locations. From the lush jungles of the Sierra Madre mountain range to the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, Malorie began adventuring and writing about her unique travels. These travel excerpts can be found on VIVA GLAM Magazine, in Malorie’s Adventure Blog, in Malorie’s adventure show: “Weird World Adventures” and in the works for her full-length travel book.

In 2022, Malorie was thrilled to become a member of the Explorer’s Club through her work on scientific travel. Her experiences volunteering on archaeological and anthropological expeditions as well as with animal conservation allowed her entry into the exclusive club. Since then, Malorie has focused more on scientific travel.

Malorie’s show “Weird World Adventures” is now LIVE on Amazon Prime Video! (You can watch it here: https://www.amazon.com/Weird-World-Adventures/dp/B0DCZCPZ7D). Stay tuned as Malorie brings the strangest wonders of the world to you!

The Berners Street Hoax Buried One London Address in Unwanted Deliveries

At five in the morning on 27 November 1810, chimney sweeps started arriving at 54 Berners Street in London. Not one sweep. Twelve of them, one after another, all told to report to the same quiet house. The widow who lived there sent them away confused, and then the coal wagons turned up. By midday…

Nils Olav, the Penguin the Norwegian Army Keeps Promoting

In August 2023, more than 160 uniformed soldiers of the Norwegian King’s Guard stood at attention inside Edinburgh Zoo. They were waiting for an inspection. The inspecting officer was a king penguin. He walked the line at his own pace, because nobody rushes a penguin. At the end of it, he made Major General. That’s…

The Mount Washington Cog Railway Has Been Climbing New Hampshire’s Tallest Peak Since 1869

Sylvester Marsh asked the New Hampshire legislature for permission to build a railway up Mount Washington. They didn’t say no. They did something better. They granted the charter. Then they reportedly suggested he might as well extend the thing to the moon while he was at it. Nobody thought it would work. A train cannot…
