Saint Tropez is a charming little fishing village located in the South of France- about two hours out from Cannes. It has the serene nature of a small town but a personality all its own. When we went to Saint Tropez, we met up with Vanessa from La Tarte Tropezienne, and we had our first tropezienne tarts. They are delicious! We were shown how to make them for our show, and the special secret for these is the cream sauce in the center. Imposters and copiers are never to able to correctly replicate the sauce, so you have to try a real Tarte Tropezienne to get it right! They are delicious! I don’t like baked goods (I know, I’m crazy) but I LOVED these.
The La Tarte Tropezienne location that we visited had a variety of other baked goods that looked too good to be true! From sandwiches to pies, they had it all. After spending time there, Vanessa kindly showed us around town. Saint Tropez is charming with its winding narrow streets and personable little shops. We visited the clock tower of the town, which only shows the time on three sides. (That’s so the town of Saint Maxime across the water wouldn’t have the advantage of knowing the time, since the two towns used to be rivals.)
Next, Vanessa took us to the waterfront where we ate a nice seafood meal. The marina there was bustling with boats, fisherman, shoppers, and tourists. It was incredible how lively this small town was down by the sea.
The charm of this little village is immense, and I highly recommend that you check it out for yourself!
