City summers just offer so much — from a variety of activities, festivals, experiences, and adventures. There’s literally something for everyone. But if you’re not sure what city to visit, here are some of our favorite fun vacation locations for a fun and memorable summer vacation.

Barcelona, Spain

It’s no secret that I’m absolutely obsessed with Barcelona, so I also had to start this article by mentioning one of my favorite cities in Europe. Barcelona, or Spain in general, is just the perfect summer destination. And even though they are plenty of beaches that you could visit there, this country offers so much more. For example, Barcelona is a gorgeous mixture of surreal architecture, fascinating history, and untouchable gastronomy.

I could spend the whole summer admiring the surreal works of Gaudí, including the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell. However, if you’re in need of a break, a quick stroll down Las Ramblas will give you the burst of energy you need. This lively street is filled with performers and shops. And it won’t take too long until you reach another must-visit destination — the La Boqueria market. You’ll be able to taste some of Spain’s greatest delicacies here. Summer in Barcelona is just something you have to experience yourself.

New York City, USA

What better place to spend your summer in than NYC? This is one of the world’s most iconic destination that has something for everyone, making it one of our favorite summer vacation locations. There’s literally so much to do here. I mean, it’s called the “City That Never Sleeps” for a reason, right? You could be strolling through Central Park, visiting world-class museums, and catching a Broadway show all in one day. Also, New York City in the summer is buzzing with festivals, outdoor concerts, and street fairs. There will never be a dull moment here.

But if you still get bored of it, simply walk across the Brooklyn Bridge, explore the trendy neighborhoods of Williamsburg and SoHo, and take in the panoramic views from the Top of the Rock or the Empire State Building. The endless option of restaurants and bars also won’t leave you feeling underwhelmed! If you’re, however, feeling hungry for knowledge and culture, visit the Metropolitan Museum of Art or the American Museum of Natural History.

Berlin, Germany

Germany is the ultimate Euro summer destination. And if you find yourself in this gorgeous country this summer, make sure to also head to Berlin. This is a city that seamlessly blends its rich history with a modern, innovative spirit. Summer in Berlin means enjoying outdoor cafes, flea markets, and open-air cinemas. You’ll get the chance to visit the historic Berlin Wall, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Museum Island. The numerous cafes, restaurants, and bars won’t let you down either!

The vibrant arts scene is on full display in neighborhoods like Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain. But if you’re still yearning for an authentic summer experience, take a boat tour on the Spree River or relax at one of Berlin’s urban beaches, like Strandbar Mitte.
