Brief History

The construction of St. Ignatius Hospital started in 1892. Throughout its construction process, this building had several setbacks. In 1893, the Sisters of Charity opened the hospital to the public while they waited for the completion of the main building. Finally, the construction of this hospital was completed in 1894, and it began accommodating patients.

Unfortunately, the hospital closed in 1964 due to financial issues. In 1963, the building was transformed into a facility for assisted living. In 2000, the building was abandoned again. From there, the hospital has gained the interest of paranormal communities, and it made the list of the Most Endangered Properties. In 2020, Colfax Commerce bought St. Ignatius Hospital, and they plan to restore the building.
