Why Lake Vacations will Overshadow Beach Vacations in 2023

Since the beginning of American family vacations, most people would take beach vacations when they had a chance. However, more and more travelers are choosing something fresh. As such, they prefer lakes instead of beaches. In fact, lake vacations have many benefits, especially to your health. Aside from that, there are more reasons to stay away from crowded beaches. To give you a better view, here are some reasons lake vacations will overshadow beach vacations in 2023.

More Serene and Peaceful

After the pandemic, many travelers chose less crowded tourist attractions. One reason is that the lockdown has shown people the beauty of open and serene places. As a result, crowded beaches became less rewarding and enjoyable. After all, you won’t be able to enjoy the ocean when the sprawling mass of umbrellas and bodies is blocking your view.

Lakes can provide a serene and peaceful surrounding. Because they are generally not crowded, you can relax and unwind. The best part is the refreshing scent of nature. The fresh and woody scent of the plants and trees surrounding the lake can easily recharge you.

Avoid Sand and Saltwater

One of the top reasons lake vacations will overshadow beach vacations in 2023 is to avoid sand and saltwater. As you know, saltwater can be itchy, especially when it dries. Aside from that, it can also dry your skin and hair. Sand, on the other hand, is quite annoying when it sticks to your hair, clothes, shoes, and towel. Most of the time, you’ll need a few washes to get rid of it.

Lakes are great options when you don’t like saltwater and sand. You can enjoy the refreshing water of a lake without leaving a trail of sand behind.

Do Lots of Water Activities

Another excellent reason to choose lakes over beaches is the water activities. Beaches offer several activities, like surfing and snorkeling. However, you can try a lake vacation if your want to do numerous water activities, like paddle boarding, waterskiing, kneeboarding, sailing, and fishing. The best part is that you can enjoy these water activities without worrying about the dangers of the ocean and the jellyfish stings that can come with it (though it should be noted that you may have to worry about snakes in certain lakes).

More Fun Outdoor Activities

One of the best reasons lake vacations will overshadow beach vacations in 2023 is that they can add more adventure to your life by breaking up your regular routine. To be specific, you can do other outdoor activities on lake vacations. Remember, most lakes are surrounded by beautiful landscapes. As such, you can also explore hiking trails, shop at the local farmer’s market, and do other fun activities offered in the area. It adds more spice back to your adventures that regular beach visits may not.
