Why Reaching Paradise Doesn’t Always Mean Commercial Flights and Layovers

Taking a vacation to “paradise” is the goal. It’s a dream. It’s the lifestyle we all want to treat ourselves to. Where is paradise? Well, that depends on you! Paradise could be a streaming, bright blue lagoon in Iceland. It could be a sweltering, soft sand beach with a cocktail in your hand. It could be holding up in a cabin in the mountains, cocooned by verdant, deep green leaves. But how will you get to your version of paradise? By plane, of course! What a silly question (much head shaking and tut-tutting ensues). Here’s the question, though: will paradise still look like paradise after 24 hours of being crammed into a container full of strangers, really high up in the air?

Commercial air travel is still air travel, right? I mean, it’ll get you from place to place mostly intact… won’t it? It might, sure, but is that “might” a chance you’re willing to take with your vacation to paradise? Here’s what I would do: I wouldn’t gamble with my precious vacation time. I’d choose my chariot to paradise from some of the best passenger planes on the planet, and I’d choose one I didn’t have to share.

Paradise, Party of Me

There seems to be a misconception around private versus commercial air travel, and that misconception is that anything other than private air travel is the most comfortable, the most luxurious, the safest, and the most enjoyable way to get from home to your version of paradise for your next vacation. Private jet charter travel is, without doubt, the best way to move around the world, bar none. Now I know what you’re thinking because I know that you know that lots of really wealthy and really famous people are the ones usually looking for a private jet to charter (rather, their assistants are!)…but can little old me make it work? Of course you can! Choosing to book a private jet over even the most super high-level of first class commercial seat in the world means choosing to offer yourself the world’s premier travel experience and ensure that when you arrive at your destination, you feel like you’re stepping out of a modern fairytale carriage and into the “happily ever after” at the end of the movie.

What Does A Private Jet Flight Offer?

On the surface of the experience, there’s the eclat: the feeling of “hell yes, I’m going to fly on a private jet! This is peak! I’m living the high life!” This is a good feeling. You deserve that feeling, so luxuriate in it for a minute or two. Once that first wave passes (don’t worry, there’s more happiness to come!), It’s time to take stock of all the other advantages there are to enjoy when you zoom off to paradise on your own private aircraft.

1. Private jet flights offer calm and low stress.

If you want to get to your destination as excited about being there as you were when you boarded your flight, you need to understand some differences between private and commercial flights.

  • A commercial flight will always depart from a commercial airport, and every check-in counter, every boarding gate, and every aircraft will be busy, bustling, and filled to capacity. You’ll be required to stand in long lines (longer if it’s high season), be around huge numbers of strangers, and not have even a moment of privacy from the start of your travels to the end.
  • Some private airlines operate out of commercial airports: if you’re departing from one of these airports, you’ll need to be around crowds only for as long as it takes you to get to your private boarding gate.
  • If you’re using a private airport, you’ll encounter no crowd and a small staff. From there it’s onto the aircraft where you and your party are the only passengers. You’ll receive discrete service from the best cabin crew possible and relax in your own calm, non-anxious, no-stressed, safe space for the duration of the flight.

2. Private jet flights offer freedom and flexibility.

Taking a private jet means that you set your own schedule rather than having to adhere to the one set by a commercial airline. You can take off at whatever time suits your travel plans best, and even if you’re running behind, the plane won’t leave without you because you’re the only passenger! Smaller classes of private jets will also allow you to get closer to a terminal destination if that destination is remote. Taking back control of your flight makes the trip better for you rather than better for the airline.

3. Private jet flights offer luxury

The definition of luxury differs from person to person, but there are a few things that most people can agree are luxuries they enjoy.

  • Spacious, plush seating. No sharing armrests with sticky strangers, no neighbour falling asleep on your shoulder, no back and neck cramps, and all the deep, peaceful sleep and relaxation you could wish for.
  • A tastefully decorated interior. Blue airplane carpet? We don’t know her!
  • Excellent service. The cabin crews who work on private flights are the best of the best, and they’re trained exceptionally well. They are on the flight to take care of your wants, needs, and safety, and there’s no one else on board for them to focus on but you!
  • The most delicious meals, snacks, and drinks. Larger classes of jet have alleys for chefs to work in, so they can offer fresh-from-the-oven, michelin quality food. Smaller jets will still have a plethora of excellent food choices, but with no space to cook, they will be pre-prepared.
  • No connecting flights. Getting off a plane, getting your baggage, and either hurtling to your next flight or waiting hours for one are not luxury activities. Staying on one plane, having it land, refuel, refresh staff, and take off again, all while you nap in comfort, is a luxury experience.

Paradise Awaits

Any vacation will only be as good as the travel that takes you there. Ask yourself: Do I want to arrive fresh, relaxed, and ready to take on any new time zone? If that’s a yes for you, the solution is simple: fly private on your way to paradise.
