About Malorie’s Adventures
Welcome to Malorie’s Adventures (occasionally known as Weird World Adventures). My name is Malorie Mackey, and I’m here to show you this weird world of ours in a different way. After over a decade of traveling to both mainstream and incredibly unique destinations around the world, I found that it’s the most unusual spots that define a place. So, naturally, when I travel now, I ask my guides what the weirdest places in the area are. I’ve found those are generally the places that define a destination and make it uniquely beautiful. In other words, a place’s character can easily be defined by the strangest places it has to offer. So, while Malorie’s Adventures is here to provide you with travel inspiration, tips and tricks on how to travel, and also discuss some of the frontiers of the mind, we heavily focus on the strangest, most adventurous, and well, coolest places a destination has to offer. We also love to talk about weird history, weird science, metaphysical topics, skepticism, and the idea of consciousness.
Why is it sometimes called ‘Weird World Adventures’?
Malorie’s Adventures really came to life from my efforts traveling around the world for my unique adventure show called Weird World Adventures. Naturally, Weird World Adventures shows you just how weird this world of ours really is. While traveling for Weird World (as well as for my adventures as a travel editor with VIVA GLAM Magazine and Fashionisers.com), I realized that I loved writing about my unique experiences out in the world. So, naturally, I began writing my own blog for fun. Then, one day, I realized it only made sense that my fun little travel blog should be a part of the Weird World Adventures universe. So, many of the blog posts found here go hand-in-hand with episodes of Weird World Adventures. And since they both focus on the strange and unusual places around the world, they are both facets of the overall Weird World brand. However, Malorie’s Adventures represents the blog (and is its own LLC – Malories Adventures LLC), and Weird World Adventures represents the television show (which is also its own LLC – Weird World Adventures LLC).
Long story short, Malorie’s Adventures is the official name (and company) for the blog, and Weird World Adventures is the official name (and company) for the TV show and accompanying podcast!

Who is Malorie Mackey?
I am an actress, published author, and adventurer. Throughout my experiences acting and hosting, I found a love for travel and adventure, having journeyed to well over a dozen countries experiencing unique locations. From the lush jungles of the Sierra Madre mountain range to the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, I began adventuring and writing about my unique travels. These travel excerpts can be found on VIVA GLAM Magazine, in Malorie’s Adventure Blog, in my unique show Weird World Adventures and in the works for my full-length travel book(s). Stay tuned as I travel the world bringing its beauty and wonder to you.
Malorie and Playboy: My first published book entitled My Playboy Story: Hopping from Richmond to Hollywood can be purchased here, and it covers my time getting swept up in the world of Playboy. You can read a quick post about my time at the Playboy Mansion here.
Malorie and Acting: As a classically trained actress with a BFA in Theatre Performance, acting will always be my first love. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2010, I have accumulated over 35 on-camera credits. You can view my IMDB Page here.
Malorie and Writing: After publishing My Playboy Story and a short story in an anthology, I realized I had a true passion for writing. In 2018, I was hired as a travel editor for VIVA GLAM Magazine and have since also become an editor for Fashionisers.com. In 2020 I was hired as a regular writer for the Monroe Institute where I focused on meditation and metaphysical topics. I have also freelanced for dozens of digital platforms and magazines. Most recently, a piece I wrote about my time on Robben Island was published in the print edition of the Skeptical Inquirer along with a piece on the Science of Ouija Boards. And I was honored to have a cover article in the November 2025 issue of Skeptical Inquirer, as well, discussing Wicked and skepticism. Over the last year, I finished my travel guidebook entitled Wanderlu$t: How to Make Money While Traveling and was commissioned by Falcon Guides to write Haunted Hikes of the Great Smoky Mountains and by Chronicle Books and Quarto Press to write The Goth Atlas. Then, I wrote Secret Virginia: A Guide to the Weird, Wonderful, and Obscure. Stay tuned for more information on the release of all of these books in Fall 2026.

Malorie’s Adventures is the perfect platform for those adventure lovers who enjoy strange, unusual, and paranormal locations. If you travel somewhere and say, “What’s the weirdest place I can find at this destination?”, then this blog is for you. If you enjoy hiking, adventure, ghosts, and roadside attractions, this brand is for you. It’s for travel lovers as well as for those who enjoy metaphysical topics, meditation, and learning about the power of the mind. If you question the way the world works, then you’ll like our ‘Power of the Mind‘ section. While anyone can love travel and enjoy reading our more generic travel posts, our target audience is specifically men and women between the ages of 18 and 45 who, well, like weird places.
