Traveling around America is a dream many people are desperate to realize. From its unique attractions to its variety of culinary scenes, it’s a nation that caters to every type of traveler. Additionally, it’s perfect for sports fans, with this sports-mad nation consisting of some American football-loving cities, given the popularity of American football. 

If you’re a fan of the NFL, venturing to these vibrant cities that adore football is a wonderful thing to do. You might even be able to get yourself to the big game, although you might need to get in there early. Whether you manage to frequent a world-class arena or not, these cities are filled with venues where fans of the various franchises within the league assemble. 

There are some standout options for football fans who want to explore America’s obsession with the sport. You can converse with like-minded fans in bars, place bets before the big game after assessing the latest NFL lines, and visit official stores to snap up merchandise and take stadium tours. Let’s take a look at some must-see cities below.  

Los Angeles

You might fancy witnessing one of Los Angeles ‘ football teams in action once you’ve traversed the hill to the Hollywood sign and explored Venice Beach. The Rams and the Chargers play their games out of the SoFi Stadium, which is known for having an electric atmosphere on game days. Both teams can potentially make deep playoff runs, meaning you’ll likely see an exciting clash unfold. New York City 

The Big Apple isn’t just known for its diverse range of food and its iconic landmarks. Most people in New York are diehard sports fans, with many locals getting firmly behind the city’s two NFL franchises. Whether you’re a Giants or a Jets fan, you can visit various places. You might even be able to get your hands on tickets to the big game, with both teams sharing the MetLife Stadium. A great thing to do alongside exploring one of the planet’s most desirable locations, New York City, is to visit for football fans.

As the first professional sports team in San Francisco, it’s hard not to get swept up by the buzz around the 49ers. 

Chicago

Alongside devouring the city’s delicious pizza creations and bumping into world-famous rappers like Eminem on the street, Chicago’s football team, the Bears, is worth watching. If tickets aren’t obtainable, you can sample the atmosphere at popular spots like Jake Melnick’s Corner Tap and Timothy O’Toole’s Pub. A city that also loves basketball alongside football, Chicago is filled with NFL lovers who will welcome you with open arms. 

Philadelphia

Philadelphia is currently on a high after winning the Super Bowl last season. When anyone brings up the Eagles and their magical triumph in the biggest show on Earth, Philadelphians tend to get an extra spring in their step. Playing their games in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, fans take over the city on a typical game day, and the stadium itself is always a cauldron of noise.

Malorie Mackey is an actress, published author, and adventurer. Malorie grew up in Richmond, Virginia where she loved sports, the outdoors, animals, and all forms of art. She took to acting at a young age, so it was no surprise when she decided to go to college for theatre. While in college, Malorie studied body movement with the DAH Theatre in Belgrade, Serbia, voice in Herefordshire, England with Frankie Armstrong, and the business of theatre in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Malorie moved from the East Coast to Los Angeles after receiving her BFA in Theatre Performance from Virginia Commonwealth University. Upon arriving in LA, Malorie participated in the Miss California USA 2011 Pageant where she won the “Friend’s Choice” Award (by popular vote) and received a beautiful award for it.

While living on the West Coast, Malorie accumulated over 40 acting credits working on a variety of television shows, web series, and indie films, such as the sci-fi movie “Dracano,” the Biography Channel show “My Haunted House,” the tv pilot “Model Citizen” with Angie Everhart, and the award-winning indie film “Amelia 2.0.”

Throughout her experiences, Malorie found a love for travel and adventure, having journeyed to over a dozen countries experiencing unique locations. From the lush jungles of the Sierra Madre mountain range to the Arctic Circle in Finnish Lapland, Malorie began adventuring and writing about her unique travels. These travel excerpts can be found on VIVA GLAM Magazine, in Malorie’s Adventure Blog, in Malorie’s adventure show: “Weird World Adventures” and in the works for her full-length travel book.

In 2022, Malorie was thrilled to become a member of the Explorer’s Club through her work on scientific travel. Her experiences volunteering on archaeological and anthropological expeditions as well as with animal conservation allowed her entry into the exclusive club. Since then, Malorie has focused more on scientific travel.
