Connecting with Your Own Healing Energy

If you’ve been meditating for a while or even if you’ve just been exploring from the sidelines, I’m sure you’ve heard a lot about healing through meditation. One of my favorite aspects of meditation is that it not only teaches healing from different states of consciousness, but it also offers opportunities for self-healing on an emotional, mental, and physical level. To be honest, I’ve never considered myself much of a healer. I’ve had trouble connecting to healing energy in the past, so I thought I’d cover some of the basics of what I do when I’m looking to heal since it doesn’t come naturally for me. Perhaps I can help you better access your healing potential or at least understand more about it. Below are the questions I think are most important to ask yourself to help access your healing energy potential.

Which state of consciousness do you heal best from?

I think it’s important to try healing from different levels of awareness to see which resonates best with you. There are always themes to the consciousness states I access, and some are better for connecting with guidance, some are better for manifesting, and some are better for healing. Each person’s experiences will be different, so if you don’t have a lot of experience in different meditative states, I’d recommend trying various approaches to see which stands out to you as the place easiest and best for you to heal from.

Personally, after I experienced a profound healing visualization involving a center of rejuvenation, there was no going back to any other approach to attempt healing. I found I could easily and effortlessly connect with the energies of this healing space in deeper meditative states, and it’s made the world of difference in my healing exercises. I perceive it differently each time, but it always leaves me feeling as if I accomplished healing relatively effortlessly. And when I disconnect, I still remember what it feels like to be connected to that level if I need to easily step away and get to a place of healing throughout the day.

How does healing best present itself to you?

I’ve participated in many meditation approaches, and one of the most important lessons one can learn is that your process is your own. You should never compare your journey to someone else’s. What works best for you won’t always work for another person. This is an important life lesson that transcends meditation and can be relevant to any facet of life, but it’s equally important for any journeys you go through in your healing practice.

For some, visualizing healing energy flowing through their body resonates beautifully. I’ve seen many people excitedly connect with this method. For me, this never worked well. As mentioned, I didn’t connect until I could see and feel an energetic version of myself move through a healing space. I perceive it as almost a spa for my soul, and I visualize a cooling white light healing each area of my soul and my body that needs healing. For many others, they perceive healing in a variety of different ways. It’s up to you to discover and feel how healing best presents itself to you, so if you don’t know, practice and play around until you find what works for you! I’ve also found it’s extremely important to come from a place of forgiveness and gratitude if you want to heal.

When should I move forward and when should I take it easy?

Finally, I think it’s so important to take it easy on yourself. Trust that your higher self will guide you and that you will know what’s best for you when you need it. If you don’t feel comfortable doing an exercise one day because you don’t feel good, don’t do it. It’s okay. Go easy on yourself, especially when you need to heal. Trust yourself to know when to move forward and when to take it easy. Trusting your instincts on this is crucial, and never give yourself a hard time for not feeling something one day.

By asking myself the above questions, I was able to connect with my healing energies and discover the process that worked best for myself. I hope you’re able to do the same if you’ve had issues connecting with your healing energies recently. Good luck on your journey!

The Real Monsters of the Odyssey, and What They Might Have Actually Been

I finally saw The Odyssey this week, and honestly, the monsters are what stuck with me most. Not because they’re scary, exactly, but because a few of them kept nagging at me afterward.
